Orechovo-Zuevo is one of the biggest towns of Eastern part of Moscow region. It's situated in 89 km from Moscow in Gorgovskoe direction. The number of sitizens is more than 120 thousand people.

Infrastructure

Orechovo-Zuevo is well known as the native land of the famous industrialists and patrons of art the Morozovs, who built hospitals, factories, barracks for workers, manufactories.

Modern developed infrastructure, stable economic growth are the characteristic features of Orechovo-Zuevo. There are 22 kindergartens, 9 centres of early development of the child, 11 schools, 3 schools with profound studying of some subjects.

Sports traditions are also strong. The town by right is considered to be the native land of Russian football: the first match has taken place on a local field. On the present day there work 2 sports-schools for chidren and teenagers, 2 stadiums, skiing lodge, swimming-pool “Neptune”. In 2007 at presence of the governor of Moscow region the sports palace “Vostok” has opened. There work several sports-halls, swimming-pool, different sports sections.

Education

The main part of citizens has higher education. About high professional standard tells quantity of students from next town, areas and regions.

The first educational institution appeared in Orechovo-Zuevo in 1859. Moscow State Regional Humanitarian Institute is the oldest and the biggest state higher educational institution in the Eastern part of Moscow region. In 2002 on its base the the unique centre of Intenet education was opened. There more than 5 thousand teachers and the heads of regional schools have passed retraining on an information technology. On the present day students are possible to graduate in seven high schools: Moscow State Regional Humanitarian Institute, branches of The Moscow International Higher Business School MIRBIS, of the the Russian correspondence institute of textile and light industry, of the Economy and business institute, of the Russian New University, of the Moscow institute of municipal services and building, of the Institute of an infrastructure of business. Average vocational training is given by 6 educational institutions: textile technical school, business college of Savva Morozov, medical college, classical college of is art-aesthetic formation and design, pedagogical and trading schools.

Culture

The vigorous activity of the Morozovs' has found reflexion in cultural sphere of the town. In the whole the architectural shape of constructions of the middle 19 - the beginnings of 20 centuries has remained in Orehovo-Zueve with some changes.

The former Morozov's factories still rise in the centre of the town. In the list of buildings which have the greatest cultural and a historical value, more than hundred names. The building of the Winter theatre put in the beginning of 20 centuries by Savvoj Morozovym concerns their number.

In a city the developed network of libraries, historical museum of local lore, a city showroom, a network of cinemas, a city recreation park functions. The children's school of arts of Jacov Flier receives visitors from the different countries of the world, and its pupils occupy prize-winning places at various competitions. On the repaired scenes of Recreation centres and Winter theatre every month pass performances of the Moscow actors. In Orehovo-Zuevsky Deanery the Sunday school works, and Christmas readings take part every year.

Trade

Throughout last years the Orehovo-Zuevsky consumer market strongly keeps one of in the lead positions in Moscow Region. Appeal of the city market was already estimated by known Moscow and Russian trading firms. Modern Orekhovo-Zuyevo differs a considerable quantity of the trading-entertaining centres. Most of them are located in buildings of the former Morozov's factories. There work such large Russian trading networks "as Pjaterochka", "Perekrestok", "Eldorado", "Diksi", "Kopeika".

On a central square there is the first trading-entertaining centre "Akvilon" in which the food supermarket, a supermarket of home appliances, large trading networks of clothes and footwear, the entertaining centre is settled down. In 2008 professional shopping centre "Oreh" a total area of 21000 sq.m. opened. There work boutiques of modern clothes and footwear, shops of jewels, perfumery and cosmetics, departments of rendering of household services. And in 2009 the hypermarket of "Ashan" appeared.

Tourism

The richest historical, cultural, sports heritage allows to develop the tourism industry in Orehovo-Zuevo. There works the Coordination council of development of the tourist activity, the sightseeing tour on a city is developed, the list of the buildings having historical, architectural and town-planning value is made. The administration of the town has also declared the intention to enter the project «Provincial ring of Moscow suburb».

Building

Last years the town actively develops. New houses, complexes of the raised comfort, industrial structures are under construction and placed in operation. It is put in operation complex "Theatrical", in 2011 delivery of complex "Breeze" in city centre is planned. Orekhovo-Zuyevo is surrounded by green space and reservoirs that creates favorable ecological conditions. Reasonable prices are attractive for investors.

Old available housing is being intensively repaired and reconstructed. In plans of architects - building of a modern living complex in the Mira street.

Transport availability

Orekhovo-Zuyevo is a large railway junction. The town has a through service by coaches with all towns of Moscow - Vladimir side, and also a circular motion. The city is connected with Moscow by the railway of the Gorkovskoe direction. Orekhovo-Zuyevo is located on the Big ring of the Moscow railway and "a new" direction of the Trans-Siberian highway. Here the locomotive depot, and near the town - one of the largest switchyards is placed. Average time in a way by a coach to Kurskaya station - 90 minutes.

The town is also convenient for an automobile cargo transportation. Orekhovo-Zuyevo is connected with Moscow by a highway of federal value - Gorkovskoe highway. Through its territory the Big Moscow automobile ring (And 108) passes. In 13 km from the town there passes regional road «Nosovihinskoe highway». In the future it is planned to connect Moscow and Orekhovo-Zuyevo with one more transport highway - an automobile line "MKAD-Noginsk-Orekhovo-Zuyevo".

The industry

Orekhovo-Zuyevo is one of the oldest centres of the textile industry. There are about 2,5 thousand enterprises of various patterns of ownership. Average nominal wages - about 10 000 roubles.

The town possesses advanced industrial and scientific and technical potential. The enterprises are capable to make competitive production, have highly skilled personnel. The share of the able-bodied population in an aggregate number makes 61,5 %.

The economy basis is made by an industrial complex which includes the chemical, machine-building, food, easy and textile industry. The chemical branch is priority. It is presented by PC "Karbolit". It's the largest enterprise in the country for manufacture of synthetic pitches and processing of plastic. In 2007 the Dutch enterprise Ltd «Akzo Nobel» for manufacture of powder paints started. Also the Finnish enterprise of Ltd «Karbodin» specialising on manufacture of synthetic pitches operates on the territory of «Karbolit». Both enterprises are equipped by the modern equipment which allows to make production on the level of the world standards.

PC «Industrial-design enterprise" Respirator" is the developer and serial manufacturer of oxygen-respiratory equipment. The designers and technologists of «Respirator» work over aviation, underwater, medical technics, and products of fire-prevention and common industrial appointment. PC "KAMPO" is dynamically developing enterprise which specialises on release of the oxygen, diving, medical, aviation, fire equipment. The enterprise co-operates not only with leaders of the Russian scientific research institutes, EMERCOM of Russia, munitions factories, but also with the companies of the USA and Great Britain.

The textile branch is presented by industrial holding of PC «Oreteks». It includes following enterprises:

- PC «Fur of Oreteks» (manufacture of artificial knitted fur, products from fur),

- PC «Weaver's products of Oreteks» (manufacture of a yarn, severe fabrics),

- PC «PiT Oreteks» (manufacture of a cotton yarn, threads, a cotton and knitted fibre),

- PC «Fabric of Oreteks» (furnish, dyeing of fabrics).

Joint-Stock Company «Strojmashavtomatizatsija and ceramics» is engaged in manufacture of cars and the equipment. The wide assortment of production of PC "Orechovohleb" producing bakery products is in demand at buyers not only the town and area, but also the next areas. The industrial enterprises of the town take part in regional industry shows, fairs and forums.

The considerable role in a development of the city belongs to small business. In business sphere operates about 600 small enterprises and it is registered more than six thousand individual private businessmen.
